Will hepa air purifier remove ringworm spores

HEPA air purifiers are often used to kill allergens, pet dander and other airborne contaminants in a person’s home. Ringworm spores are among the most common types of fungi that can be found on the skin or hair of an infected individual. But the question is: Will HEPA air purifier remove ringworm spores?

There aren’t many studies on this topic, however as far as I can tell, air purifiers with HEPA filters do not kill or remove ringworm spores. Germ Guardiap HEPA air purifier doesn’t do it as well.

It is possible that the ringworm spore could be killed by heat, but a HEPA filter does not produce enough heat to kill the spore. Fortunately there are other ways of killing or removing these spores from the air: using UV light, airing out spaces and balancing humidity levels in your home.

HEPA filters do not remove fungi such as mold and mildew because they grow on surfaces rather than airborne. Additionally it’s more common for bacteria to linger longer than mold; though some types of air purifiers can eradicate bacterial particles.

If you have any questions about an item’s ability to remove contaminants like dust mites, pollen, pet dander or fungus I recommend checking with air purifiers reviews before purchasing anything.
